August Claas established his engineering works in 1913 to manufacture straw balers. His development of an improved knotter in 1921 provided the cornerstone of the company’s growth and success. CLAAS has since lodged more than 3000 patents for innovation in agricultural engineering and technology.
CLAAS is Europe’s market leader in combine harvesters, self-propelled forage harvesters, balers and greenline equipment. Established in 1913, this privately owned family company is based in Harsewinkel, Germany, and operates production, sales and service sites around the world and employs over 11,000 people globally.
